This bridge was built in 1908. It feed 2 of the 53 miles of ditches dug out to support the HSP. Hilue Sugar Plantation was built in 1849 & is the 1st & oldest sugar plantation in Kaua'i. It was the last sugar plantation to close in state of Hawaii. This plant operated for 151 years & some of the workers were the 4th generation of their family to work there when it closed it's doors in November 2000.
